Idaho Forest Products Commission Social Media Engagement

The Challenge

The Idaho Forest Products Commision (IFPC) looked to WSC to promote social media engagement. IFPC’s goal was to increase the relevancy and likeability of the forest products industry, build support for forest products industry, and support for active management of forest products.

 

The Solution

WSC tackled this project by developing and action plan to (1) create and publish two posts per week. The posts would be be either new content or repurposed content from other relevant sites. Some posts would be published through the social media influencer Tim Burr. The plan was also to engage with relevant content and invite new likes.

 

The overall strategy was to coordinate social media with the other media efforts (blog, TV, radio, etc). The 2017 social media work-plan followed the scheduled message themes for the year. Message #1 (February- May) was renewable and sustainable, message #2 (June – September) was environment, and message #3 (October – January) was jobs and products. The social media posts and engagements followed the calendar of these messages.

 

Between February 2017 and January 2018 WSC created 5 facebook and 5 twitter post, as well as blog posts on 9 topics.
