Program Evaluation: Grattan After School Program

The Challenge

WSC parter conducted a study for the Grattan After School Program in San Francisco. The purpose of this study was to use data from the best after school programs around the country combined with independent data gathered from exemplary San Francisco schools to help inspire the best possible after school programming for Grattan After School Program (GASP).

The Solution

This study was divided into three parts. Part I explored the criteria essential for creating an excellent after school program, based on studies and meta-studies of the best programs in the country. Part II compared data from five San Francisco schools (including Grattan) to look at best practices in San Francisco and set a benchmark. Part III described exemplary programs from around the country and gave a list of recommendations for GASP to follow.
